We specialize in manufacturing and installing various types of acrylic glass underwater windows. Acrylic is a transparent plastic that is ideal for this application. While glass is heavier and, as laminated glass, prone to air pockets, acrylic glass is far superior to glass and is far superior to glass as a material. Acrylic windows are therefore easier and safer to install, and the risk of breakage is minimal. An ideal material to offer a solution for your underwater window.

Plexiglas® has a light transmission factor (LTA factor) of an impressive 92%, while this value for glass is well below 80%. This makes DS Acrylglas® ideal for pool windows as the luxurious effect is enhanced. Compared to many other types of acrylic (PMMA), the LTA factor and the possibility of yellowing are also higher. Cheaper PMMAs lose their light transmission over time (windows become dull and yellow sooner), while with DS Acrylglas® this remains very high over a longer period of time.

DS®ACRYLGLAS-PLEXIGLAS® windows for pools, what do we use? Acrylic glass?

We only use DS® acrylic glass, which we use in our subsidiary company DS Acrylic produce. We use the highest quality raw materials
for the production of acrylic glass. Especially for pool discs we only use cast (GS) Acrylic glass with specially developed additives,
which makes the acrylic glass more resistant to high solar radiation. It prevents the pool panes from turning yellow after 1-2 years.
We manufacture the panels as a composite material (like laminated glass) or, with a 25% surcharge, as a full block in all sizes and thicknesses.

What are the differences in quality?

As with all products, there are huge differences in quality, which of course manifest themselves in the pricing. Don't just look for the

Which acrylic glass thickness do I need for my DS®ACRYLGLASS-PLEXIGLAS® swimming pool?

Another important point is the material thickness; the panes must not bend or deform, but should withstand the water pressure. Our plastic structural engineers use special software to calculate the material thickness of the acrylic glass panes. The overall size of the pool and the size of the acrylic glass pool panes play a crucial role. It is also calculated how large the contact surface must be in concrete, stainless steel or plastic and of course the exact installation dimensions of the special joint. With the help of the installation dimensions of the sealing joint, we can determine exactly the amount of sealant required
