DS® acrylic glass, GS and XT sheets, tubes, rods colored acrylic glass

DS®acrylic glass Highest surface quality, unbeatable in brilliance and Transparency

We attach great importance to quality, because acrylic glass is not just acrylic glass. The most important are the raw materials to get a high quality product. Special additives increase the service life of the material, it is crucial where the material is used, indoors or outdoors. That plays a crucial role. Lots of sun exposure or little. The solution for the application are specially matched additives. In this way we guarantee a very long service life.

Manufacturing process DS®acrylic glass

Acrylic glass GS (cast) is created when the raw materials are cast in a mold between two mirror glass plates.
Acryl GS has an excellent surface quality. It is weather and aging resistant for years, does not yellow and does not become rough.
Acryl Glas GS has higher surface finish and optical quality and is less prone to stress cracking than XT.
GS has particular advantages when it comes to processing, it has a wider range of processing options and is particularly well suited to one-off production and small series.
GS is also better suited than XT for the production of complicated parts with optically flawless and highly resilient bonding.

A small disadvantage, however, is that Acryl GS can have a higher thickness tolerance than Acryl XT.

Benefits: Higher resistance to weathering and aging, better surface quality, no formation of stress cracks and no yellowing are the advantages of Acryl Glas GS.

Acryl Glas XT (extruded) is manufactured in a special extrusion process. In this process, acrylic granules are first melted, then shaped into plates, rods or tubes under high pressure and then rolled to the desired thickness. The refined surface quality and resistance to weathering and aging are comparable to those of acrylic glass GS. However, Acrylic GS exhibits the even higher strength, surface finish and optical quality than Acrylic Glass XT. .An advantage is that acrylic glass XT has a lower thickness tolerance than GS. Therefore, XT is sometimes referred to as precision acrylic. The processing of Acryl XT is more complex because it melts faster during processing. With certain processing methods, however, it even offers advantages over acrylic glass GS.
Extruded glass offers a cheap, economical solution and is best suited to batch production where conditions are always the same.
